Dear Jo,
Thank you for your enquiry. Unfortunately, the screenonline support team is unable to offer personal assistance with locating films or television programmes on DVD or video. This is because the screenonline clips are digitised from original materials (film prints or television broadcast master tapes) sourced from the British Film Institute's National Film and Television Archive or directly from the film studios/television broadcasters. This means that we are in no better position to track down DVDs or videos than the average screenonline user. It should be additionally noted that due to rights issues, we are unable to make copies of either film prints or television broadcast master tapes for individuals.
However, we can offer the following suggestions for you to try:
If the film or television programme was originally produced by the British Film Institute, you can search the bfi's catalogues at:
http://www.bfi.org.uk/collections/catalogues/index.htmlFor non-bfi titles, the bfi's website holds information on video/DVD availability at:
http://www.bfi.org.uk/facts/onvideo/If the video/DVD you are trying to locate has been deleted, it might be possible to track down an old copy through a deleted video search service:
http://www.sendit.com/circle/video_hunt/International DVDs can be sourced at the following sites:
CD-Wow (specialises in Region 3 DVDs, but supplies Region 1 and Region 0 DVDs):
http://www12.cd-wow.com/index_2.phpLoaded 247 (UK site that specialises in USA Region 1 DVDs):
http://www.loaded247.co.uk/Amazon (the UK and the USA
Amazon sites supply USA Region 1 DVDs to the UK and internationally, and international users can purchase British DVDS (Region 2) from the UK site):
http://www.amazon.co.uk or
http://www.amazon.com If you wish to view the film or television programme for research purposes, you might like to contact our Research Viewing service. They will be able to let you know whether the bfi holds a copy of the film in our archive. If we do, it could be made available to view as part of our Research Viewings service. (Please note that we would not be able to make you a copy of it). For more information about this service, please see:
http://www.bfi.org.uk/collections/rvs/index.html To track down more information related to the film or television programme, you can find the bfi's Information Services at:
http://www.bfi.org.uk/nationallibrary/services/ There is a link to a form you can fill in with your film or television enquiries at
http://www.bfi.org.uk/ask or telephone +44 (0)20 7255 1444 and ask for Information (Mon - Fri, 10am - 5pm).
